I’ve always loved the idea of joining relevant Facebook Groups because they can be started up by anyone, on any topic of interest, and they serve as a networking place for entrepreneurs just like you and me to discuss different topics, share thoughts and voice our opinions. At the bottom of this post you’ll find a Facebook groups list that will help you with growing your blog traffic and networking for your business.

FACEBOOK GROUPS LIST

Choices…choices…choices. You have a lot of them. At one point I had joined hundreds of Facebook groups but then I ended up narrowing it down to those that were most beneficial to my business model. But, you have a choice of either joining existing Facebook groups on a topic that is relevant to your business so you can connect with others in your niche and promote your brand (which I suggest) and/or you can create your own group (another great idea if you have the time and commitment level).

If you join Facebook groups, all you really need to remember is to abide by the rules so that you don’t catch any static. You don’t want to end up being reported as a spammer and have your profile or page shut down by Facebook. That would be awful. Facebook has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to spammers so just be careful.

1. Build your authority.

Depending on the kind of group you join, THIS is what you should focus on. Building yourself up as an authority will bridge more connections for you and you’ll be someone people want to follow. You can achieve this by posting relevant content that they will find interesting. You don’t want to only post content that is on your blog, but you do want to post content that is still engaging and will possibly draw in a conversation. Mix it up by posting interesting content.

2. Start your own group.

You should first be sure you have a thorough understanding of how groups work which you can only do by joining other groups and watching how people interact and participate. You manage your group just like you would your Facebook page by posting fresh content to make sure that people are engaging all the time. It can be a lot of work, but it will be well worth it as you grow your community and email list.

3. More targeted.

Facebook groups are relatively more targeted than your actual page. You know that if someone is in a Facebook group, they are very much connected and interested in the group’s focus. You may be asking yourself what the point of creating a group is if you have to do the same things as you would on your Facebook Page. Catch this: Your group shouldn’t be based on your brand, it should only support it. This means that you need to create a group based on a topic that is of social interest but is also relevant to your brand.

For example, if you sell Beachbody products, you could start up a group by creating a challenge to lose “x” amount of weight in a number of days. It’s not a direct promotion of your brand, but it’s a topic that will gain a lot of attention and will increase brand awareness while drawing in your target market.

4. Find out what your market wants.

Just as with your Facebook page, you should be posting interesting content and even take a stab at posting controversial ideas to spark discussions, all while engaging your members as much as possible. If someone comments or asks a question, be sure to comment back. The more you engage members, the more activity your group will have. A highly active group will always keep members interested.

5. Make sales.

You may have heard before that it’s all about building your community first, and the money will come. This is very true. The more you keep your peeps engaged and you pay attention to their needs, you’ll be able to provide solutions and make sales. It’s really that simple.
