Why Guest Blogging?

Did you know that guest blogging is a great way to get more traffic to your website which can possibly result in more subscribers and sales?

Most business owners are unaware of how vital blogging and guest blogging really is. In fact, a lot of them don’t blog at all. They either feel like it’s not worth it or they just don’t understand guest blogging benefits whatsoever. But if you are looking to learn about how to be a guest blogger on other blogs, then you truly understand that it is something that will help with your internet marketing goals.

Guest blogging is simply just making a post on someone else’s blog, (preferably a blog with high traffic volume) and reaching out to his or her readers with your voice.

After reading a post on About.com, I found some great tips on what to do when starting out with guest blogging.

A few that really stuck out to me were:

#6. Provide Links to Your Blogs and Online Writing

Great idea. In fact, this will land you writing gigs a lot quicker than if you don’t have any samples at all. If you’re just starting out with blogging and you don’t have much content to share, write a few articles and blog posts BEFORE going out there for guest posting opps.

#7. Start Small

Starting off small enables you to gain some exposure and momentum. And when you’re just starting, it’s good to get your feet wet first, and then branch out to bigger and better.

#9. Provide Your Best Content

You should always provide your best content. Making sure your content is thorough, clean, and valuable will give you a great foundation to build on. Blog owners want to see that you put time and effort into creating great content.

Why does guest blogging work for you? Well, this enables you to network and get your expertise out to more people, which drives more traffic to your blog or website. It doesn’t take a lot of genius to do this either. All you really need to do is connect with blog owners who are in your niche, adhere to their guidelines, and that’s it. As an entrepreneur, networking is the one thing that will help out extensively when it comes to internet marketing.

Even if you’re not the avid blogger, you can still take the opportunity to get to know more people. These connections can prove to be valuable in the future.

One thing to keep in mind is that you should make it a point to choose bloggers that have more readers than you, of course, and target readers that might like your style of writing.

Most of all, know your stuff. It doesn’t make any sense for you to post a blog for a topic that you really know nothing about.

Guest Blogging Benefits

Now there are several guest blogging benefits and one of them is called back linking. Just to be brief in case you are unfamiliar with back linking, it’s when you write a blog or article and you put a link back to your site in your bio or resource box. For instance, at the end of your blog you might put something like “Jane Evans is the author of Getting More Traffic to Your Dog Training Business. To grab your free copy of this report, please visit www.domainname.com” or something of the like. Not only does this get you traffic to your site, it can also get you new opt ins. As you can see, with this strategy, it can be a great way to get more exposure and to really gain more readers. You don’t want to miss a chance to guest blog on a high traffic site.

If you’re just starting out, it can be a little scary to approach blog owners or try to fulfill their needs in order to get your blog posted.

But instead of being intimidated, think of it as a fun experience and how much of a privilege it would be for them to have you as a guest blogger.

Besides, if you actually develop a relationship with them, maybe they would be willing to guest blog on your site.

Quick Tip: If you do decide to have guest bloggers write for you, have them put in a back link to one of the posts already on your blog ( one that’s related to theirs or what they are talking about).

This will create yet another back link right within your site. The more of those you have, the better. Enjoy the world of blogging and of course, guest blogging benefits!
