Who doesn’t want to get up every day feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, ready to make an impact on the world through business efforts? We all do and absolutely have a good chance if we can get some good sleep. Truth is, productivity for mompreneurs can be hard to come by if proper rest isn’t a factor.
When you’re a supermom with 100 different things going on at once, it seems easier said than done. The key is to figure out what in the world can increase your productivity so that you can get work done in your business and take care of home.
Taking care of yourself is the best trick in the book for success in this area. Many moms are so giving of themselves that they forget to take care of themselves. Getting your proper rest is the exceptional factor in making it all work.
Your internal time clock.
Recent studies have shown that your body will adapt naturally to waking up at a certain time every day if you go to sleep at the same time every night.
Therefore, if you were to wake up at 6 a.m. every day and you need five to eight hours of sleep, your body will naturally release melatonin, the sleep chemical at the time you should be winding down for sleep. Listen to your body.
I find it much easier to go to sleep when there is complete darkness, no lights on at all. Your body pays attention to your surrounding environment and this lets it know that it’s time to rest.
Exercise Makes A Difference.
Everything works together when your body is concerned. When it comes to chemistry of the brain, exercise knows how to work it! If you are having trouble sleeping or get insomnia at times, it’s because the brain isn’t releasing the sleep chemicals that you need.
This is exactly why you need exercise to take care of the problem. The energy you let off will get your heart rate pumping, and get your blood moving to your brain while removing unwanted toxins from the body. For the most part, the body can take care of itself in regards to getting back on balance, but you play a role in that as well.
All you can do is try it out and see what happens. Twenty to thirty minutes of cardio three to four days a weeks is sufficient. Most of all, be consistent if you really want to see a difference.
Get the kids situated.
If you have a spouse, it might be a good idea to get on the same page about how much rest you need to be productive in your business and in life. If you can communicate how important it is, then perhaps a system can work for the both of you. Either way, when you have small children it can be a challenge.
Babies are unpredictable of course, but taking turns each night is a possible solution. As the kids grow, it becomes a little easier. You can set their bedtimes and make sure they stick to it so that you can stick to yours.
If you’re a single mom, you definitely should have your kids on a schedule for bedtime so that you can work around that schedule. It’s not the easiest situation to be in, but it certainly will help give you room to get more done in your business.
Your proper beauty rest is crucial to productivity. Your body needs it and if you are moving around like the energizer bunny, getting only 3 or 4 hours of sleep at a time, trust me, it will catch up with you. Take care of your body with exercise, plenty of water, and proper eating habits to get you on the right track and keep you there.
