Helpful Tools to Grow Your Business

***Note: This page will be updated continuously as we come across more tools and resources that can be used effectively in your business.

Website Hosting

Hosting: Hostmonster is the hosting provider that I’ll be switching over to at the end of the year. I currently use Host Matters, and they have good customer service, there aren’t any glitches here and there so far like I’ve experienced in the past with others.

Autoresponder: I use both Mailchimp and Madmimi for email marketing and opt ins. They are great if you’re on a budget. I’ve also used Aweber and GetResponse in the past, and they are all good choices in my opinion.

Themes: Studiopress has awesome themes that I own and have used in the past. I’ve also used Woo Themes and currently, Elegant Themes. All of these themes are Premium themes (highly recommended) and are easy to use.

Landing Pages: I have an older version of Optimize Press that I still use from time to time but the newer version is of course, updated and a lot cleaner. I also use Profits Theme which is also excellent for membership sites, affiliate tools pages, and more. (It does require an IonCube Php Loader so make sure your hosting provider has the updated version. This is why I have to use another provider other than Ipage.)

Domain Names: Godaddy. You can also check for coupon codes for Godaddy items. Doesn’t hurt to save money if you can.

Google Analytics: This is golden for keeping track of who visiting your site, for how long, etc. It’s a free tool and totally worth having!

Traffic: One of the hardest things for website owners to get is traffic. If you want to syndicate your content, I would suggest using Onlywire. You get all major outlets in one spot. Pricing starts at $10/mo.

Plugins

Pretty Links: I use this plugin when I do a telesummit or event with speakers and I can give them a personal link. If need links to give your affiliates or you want to set up your custom link, this free plugin does the job. It also helps to keep track of clicks and where traffic is coming from.

Visual Form Builder: Simple yet effective, and also free. Drag and drop to build a form directly on your site. You won’t need anything more.

PC Hide Pages: You might not want EVERY page showing up on your site. Now you can hide them from the public using this plugin.

Shareaholic and Easy Social Share: Let’s visitors easily share your content. You might not need both, but either one will do.

Ultimate TinyMCE:  I like this one because it enables you to change the color of your text, easily upload your videos, etc. There’s a lot of different options with this one that you might like.

Yoast WP SEO: You definitely want this to make sure your search engine optimization is on point. It makes sense to have it so that you know your posts are go to go and your content will be found on the web.

CommentLuv: I have the free version of this but there is also an upgrade if you choose to go that route. This is great for visitors who leave comments and a back link to their site. They show you love and you show love back.

Contact Form 7: Simple, easy to set up.

Hybrid Connect: This is a paid plugin that you can do a lot with. Anything from setting up a squeeze page to creating an opt in form for your site, you’ll find some really nice templates here.

Social Media Management

Hootsuite: I love this one because I can set up my Tweets, Facebook Posts, Linked In posts, etc. in minutes and have them scheduled to go out when I want them to.

Social Oomph– I simply use this tool for my Tweets when I’m setting them up to go out to different accounts. It just makes it a lot easier.

Outsourcing

Fiverr: You can get just about anything you need done for only $5.  I wouldn’t recommend custom work being done here but little things like video editing, techy fixes, and small jobs can be a good deal.

Hire My Mom: If you need a VA to help you run things in your business, this is a good site to find one. A good VA isn’t the cheapest, but it pays to get a job done the RIGHT way.

Warriors For Hire: You can get just about anything done for a good deal from seo to mini sites by checking out what services are available via the Warrior Forum.

Gratitude

Sweet Perfection: I had to list this here! My good friend and colleague Karen Trudell has these awesome chocolate truffles that will just melt in your mouth. I’m serious, I’ve never tasted anything like these and I’m a chocoholic! If you want to show your clients appreciation or if you run a contest or something like that, these are a great gift.

Sweet Escapes By Suprena: Love this lady and her chocolate chewies! She’s got a ton of yummy sweets that make a great treat for anybody!
