Self defeating behavior is when you’re pouring a lot of time into planning what you’re going to do and what you want out of life.
 
You’re thinking about it, deciding how it all makes you feel – but you’re not actually doing anything. This is spinning your wheels but never gaining any traction and without traction or taking steps forward, you will stay stuck.
 
Stop trying to be perfect with your plan.
 
Stop caring about what other people think and put yourself out there. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what you’ve been through, or where you are right now in your life and biz, opportunities wait for no one. Doors will open when you open up and show up. Here’s why I didn’t succeed in my first few years of business. 
 
I had to learn this myself because being shy and introverted just doesn’t cut it in the marketplace. Your confidence has to get stronger. It will enable you to conquer that crap and all the other limiting beliefs you have. This is why I love working with women who do their mindset work and get in the game fully and fiercely.
 
There’s no reason why you can’t increase your conversion ratios, get noticed and make the type of impact that gets you to 5 figure months consistently.
 
There’s no reason why you can’t make some minor shifts to avoid pitfalls that could cause your business to sink, but instead, sharpen your business model to scale, scale, and scale some more.
 
All of this happens when you have regular forward movement. You should never be agonizing over the font on a business card or the color or the layout. Set some boundaries with yourself and don’t give in to things that you know will impede the growth.of your success.

One common problem I see with some of the women that I work with are cases of uncomfortable feelings or inadequacy. And honestly, all that is about is not recognizing your own fears. Only when you can recognize them for what they are and put a name to them will you be able to plot against them and finally overcome them.

You feel “paralyzed”

In a sense it’s the same as being stuck because you don’t take any action. You run, aka procrastinate and may find it hard to overcome. I’ll raise my hand to this because I just went through this recently. I have an online event to follow through with and it’s been on my mind since last quarter! I’m rolling my eyes at myself about it as I’m writing this.

I know how to carry it out, but I want to switch things up a bit this go round. So, the thoughts of it are flipping around and around in my mind. And instead of taking a forward moving action, the thoughts remain where they are. Luckily, I’ve spent years doing my “self-work” and I know how to snap myself out of these situations. This one just took a little longer. There’s no excuse. I’m finally moving and shaking with it.

I’m telling you this because you don’t want to wreak havoc on your goals and dreams by constantly thinking of what to do and not actually dong something. A little movement is better than no movement at all. Get out of your head.

You drop out emotionally and physically

You may have been working on something and stopped right in your tracks. At times we may anticipate on problems or a bad ending because it happened before or another reason. Here’s the deal – you don’t ever want to let fear rule your life. This is how you lose control. Face it head on with the true facts rather than the negative scenarios you let run through your mind when facing the unknown.

It’s very possible to have so many things going on at once that you become so overwhelmed without consciously being aware of it. Your breathing patterns could change, your blood pressure may rise, etc. Everything you take in, affects how you perform on a day to day basis. You have to get to a point where you can pull it all together mindfully and emotionally so that it doesn’t do damage to you physically.

The most common way for me to turn down any feelings of overwhelm has to do with spiritual connection. When my soul compass is off, I immediately turn to meditation and prayer. Find what works for you and go to that one thing to seek peace and clarity.

Think of the amazing things that could happen in your life if you could just stop being afraid. Begin to unmask the fears and see them for what they really are – lies.
